The sudden increase in sunshine, and the lengthening of the days produces a definite effect on all of us. As the flowers pop open all around us, and the sap rises in the trees, we can all feel a little frisky as our energy levels grow. It seems to add a little bounce to the dogs too, and they get all playful as the sun warms their fur.
Watching them play is a great reminder to have some fun with all this increased spring energy. Time to shake off the winter stillness and leap back into the flowing energies of life. It’s a time of creative output, as the natural worlds bursts with flowers and leaves, we can turn outwards into this beautiful fresh world.
Once things get going at this time of year the pace can pick up pretty fast. It’s a time to run with ideas, and to ride the natural wave of growth and expansion flowing around us. There’s lots of fun to be had, and energy to be burnt off.
Once the dust settles we can examine and explore the new ground beneath our feet. It’s a time to explore, and to play a bit, and in this way to create something new this spring. Don’t let that spring bounce go to waste!
I hope you have some fun planned for the Bank Holiday, Seonaid 🙂 I’m sure the dogs will get an outing or two.
Your dogs look so happy and playful. Just looking at them must make you feel good sometimes. Enjoy the northern spring 🙂
What wonderful photos. I definitely want to bounce, but am suffering terribly from the large amounts of birch pollen.
Such fun photos! They sure do epitomize the energy of spring!
Ooh methinks ’tis time I got out for a bounce 🙂
LOVE those photos of your bouncy dogs Seonaid … am positive they are moving around on my screen as I type !
Enjoy that bouncing Poppy, it’s good for the soul as well as the spirits 🙂
I definitely feel positive and upbeat now the days are getting longer, but not quite as bouncy as your dogs!
Well the dogs have extra bounce stored in their legs you know 🙂
It brightens my day too! Lovely dogs 🙂 Don’t let that spring bounce go to waste– wonderful reminder!
Happy bouncing Amy 🙂
Your dogs always steal the show – what a great bunch. That is the seashore behind them and not one of your beautiful Lochs … right? Thanks for the reminder to be positive and forward-thinking during this special time of year. I will try to take your recommendation to heart … better yet, I will try to put into action you words. D
It is indeed the seaside David….it’s one of those gorgeous west coast white coral beaches. I hope you enjoy the increased spring in your step, and the unfolding of new plans 🙂
This is lovely and fun! It’s interesting how the closer we live to nature, the more our energy attunes to the energy cycles of the planet 🙂
That’s so true Rachael, and in turn feeling in rhythm with the earths seasons brings a sense of place and rhythm in our own lives 🙂
Seonaid, I agree there is something about longer lighter evenings that puts a Spring in my step, and of course the sights and scents of springtime around us. I have enjoyed some lovely runs in early mornings and evenings with wild garlic and wild currant assaulting my senses in the nicest possible way. Your photos as ever capture beautifully the joy of nature and I can almost feel the happiness from your doggie chums. Very welcome on a rather grey and blustery morning. Today the weather has taken a turn for the worse, but nights are still bright, so I am embracing the rain as far as I can- not the best start to May, but plenty room for improvement ! .
🙂
We have had such a beautiful warm sunny start to Spring though, and all those wonderful scents you mention have been very noticeable in the warm air 🙂 Hopefully the cold mist is a brief interruption to an otherwise delightful spring!
Yes lets hope so .
Love the way you have blurred the motion to give us essence of bounce! Very happy spring (and springy) images, Seonaid 🙂
Glad you like the motion blur effect Sue, the pictures made me smile so I wanted to share them 🙂
They were very smile-inducing pictures! 🙂
We could learn a lot from their attitudes!
I try to watch and learn each day….they are great teachers of living in the moment and going with the flow 🙂
It brightens my day to see them playing like this. Wonderful images and thoughts, Seonaid!
Yeah, it makes me smile to see them up to mischief and fun. The blonde one, Molly, is baiting her mother to play chase….and of course she always does in the end!
When spring arrives, the dogs come out.
They do indeed along with the rest of natures fabulous show 🙂
Good advice in a fun and playful setting 🙂
Well dogs will get things feeling playful every time 🙂
Oh I love them 🙂
Me too Sarah….they are my daily therapy 🙂
It’s such a joy to watch them running and jumping with wild abandon 🙂 Our cats are a mixture of daily therapy and on the verge of putting us in therapy from sleepless nights 😉
I DO love your energy and bounce! Doesn’t the sun feel delicious and invigorating? I definitely am smiling. I LOVE your pictures and your story! FUN!! Thanks!
That’s great that the energy, bounce and smiles are contagious….even across the internet 🙂 Spring is such an energetic and pretty season.
I think Ani must think it’s sping all year round… any bouncier and she could do stunt double for a kangaroo….
In truth, the snow also makes my three very bouncy…..as does the chance to get their paws wet in the river or the sea….as does running over grass or hills….mmmm…the list is quite long. But I liked the idea of spring bounce and was imagining how good it would feel to run and play chase like that!
I am doing it rather than imagining 🙂
