Otherworldly Grass

20130811-221046.jpg
In the eternal world of the dead
Sun shines upwards from beneath the perfect feet of heroes.
Grass ripened peacefully for millennia under dark skies
Pauses unchanging in this breathless land.
The storm of life blows through
Throwing seeds tumbling into death
And through the gate of life
Back into our world
And all it’s chaotic change.

About greenmackenzie

Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a collection of dogs, hens and a cat. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 20 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

    hello Seonaid,
    great light on the grass
    in the second shot.
    We do not need redwoods
    to enjoy the daily sun.

The sun glistening in those grasses is truly beautiful. We had a rainbow evening here tonight. 🙂

Those are wonderfully dramatic, the second one particularly so. That is a really deep and lovely poem.

    • That’s very kind of you to say, the light was so delicious it had me squeaking joyfully as I lined up the shots. The poem tumbled out tonight as I lost myself in the photos while processing them…..golden grass has a very strange effect on my mind 🙂

Seonaid, Lovely photos and poem. Stormy skies do a lot for one’s “muse”.
