Eerie remnants

20131102-100020.jpg
Tucked against an ancient stone wall, in the crumbling city of the dead, he looms through time. Countless centuries of bones lie white beneath the cold earth, and yet still he stands.
Edinburgh’s great and good, reduced to memories of stone,
Yet he makes fresh impressions still,
On unsuspecting minds.

Taken in Greyfriars cemetery, Edinburgh.

About greenmackenzie

Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a couple of dogs. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 12 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

Dear Seanaid. It’s a great place you have photographed I feel deeply inspired. Maybe he is tucked in the shade with the hood turned up to hide the empty eye sockets while he is waiting prepared to make an attack on an unsuspecting passersby 😯
I’m sorry but it was not my intention to pass on any dreadful dreams 😀
I hope you have a lovely weekend 😉
