New Colours

Luscious luminous
Pink, fresh light fills petal husks
Dried by winters wind

Pulling back the curtains of the bay window, the light of another new day splashed across the wooden floor. It was tinged pink, which made her look again at the sky beyond. Vivid pink and orange light was painted through the winter clouds, and the whole world was washed with these new colours. The familiar garden path looked exotic and inviting, and the old dried out flowers of the climbing hydrangea, which only the day before had been a dried out brown, were now luscious luminous pink. New colours for a new day.

I love art which is here now and gone food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 12 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

That first photo is just incredible … the petals looks so delicate in that light

  2. What a gift – pink light and blue skies, what a refreshing and enticing way to begin the day. Thanks for sharing it with us, Seonaid.

    • It was a beautiful way to start the day, and very unexpected. The light was very briefly at just the right angle to fill these dried petals….10 minutes later and the show was over!

  3. I am just at the beginning of winter here and frigid temps return. It is such a joy to see glimpses of spring in synchronicity with your natural way of painting the frame for the pictures.
    Peace! Ken

    • I think nature is teasing us a little with this lucious pink light in the dried out petals….we have a good couple of months to go before we can really look forward to spring blossoms….but isnt it nice to dream and remember what will come next Ken ๐Ÿ™‚

Blue sky? What a novel concept … Thank you for the reminder!

    • My pleasure Penny…..we’ve had quite a lot of clear crisp blue skies….but not much of that lovely white stuff which you captured so beautifully in your last post ๐Ÿ™‚

Pink! Nature is so clever as are you for spotting it ๐Ÿ™‚

She can be kind as well as cruel, Mother Nature, can’t she Seonaid? I love that roseate glow too. Sometimes on the morning frost or glorious evening skies. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for making me smile.

    • She really can be, but on this morning she was at her prettiest, despite the cold. I love pinks you get in the midst of winter here….almost makes up for the very short hours of light when its so pretty! We’ve has some lovely bright days up here, but not too much frost and ice yet….I’m sure she has them tucked up her sleeve for us though ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Gorgeous photos! Somehow it feels as if you’re inviting spring to come. A bit early perhaps, but if I were spring, I would make sure to hurry and come and flirt with your camera lens ASAP!
Best wishes for this new year!

    • Oh I love this comment, and the idea of Spring being enticed to come out and flirt with my camera lens. If only I was that persuasive…just imagine the wild and stunning weather I would try to entice out of mother nature ๐Ÿ™‚
Oh well I will have to be content with going out and keeping my eyes open!
      Best wishes for 2015!
