Winter Blush

Soft apricot blush,
Stroked through seaside grass and clouds,
Winters inner glow.

About greenmackenzie

Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a couple of dogs. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 12 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

Well, you can add me to your group of admirers. A beautifully serene shot. Some of us have been lucky to avoid the terrible weather. And yet, I long for snow!

    • It’s so true, I’m the same…..but am very happy that we missed the terrible storms! How lovely that I have a new admirer, and I love your photos, so it’s mutual admiration 🙂

  2. It’s been a very bad few days here Seonaid. Winter is doing its best to do us in. Your post gave just a little bit of warmth to keep me going. Time to do chores. Thanks. D

The light! Is so …beautiful. I hope you have escaped the bad weather we hear about? This looks calm and serene.

    • We have been very lucky with the weather, apart from having very little snow this year. There has been rain and wind, but also lots of bright clear days. It looks terrible further south though, the wettest winter on record there.

    Really wonderful Seonaid!!!! 🙂

  7. Lovely image, Seonaid. The sun’s glow on those grasses is so magical. 🙂

    • Thanks, the light dropped and turned apricot quite suddenly, and the landscape became so peacefully beautiful right before my eyes…..right place at just the right moment 🙂

  8. Low, warm light on beach grass is one of my favorite things ever. Beautiful photo!

Beautiful landscape…. Happy Valentines Day Seonaid.

  12. Beautiful words and image, warming on this cold miserable day. Hope you’ve been keeping well, I seem to have missed your posts somehow,

Gives me a warm feeling, Seonaid, even though I know it’ll be pretty chilly 🙂
    Really lovely!

    • It was quite cold, proper winter weather, but I was well wrapped up and toasty in my winter gear. When you have dogs you learn to acquire appropriate clothing for all weathers 🙂

Beautiful. This warm glow you have captured seems to be in places I have never noticed before. I’ve taken many photos this month of flooded valleys, trees and the sea, here in Norfolk – it seems to be everywhere. Perhaps it’s the light, perhaps its the mindfulness working…

    • Rachael it has looked awful down in Norfolk, I hope you’re managing to keep dry and safe. So much water in such a small span of time. We have been so much luckier up here with quite a lot of dry bright days. I’m delighted you enjoyed the image, and I’m happy to share the warm light 🙂

I agree with ordinary good. This is so beautiful. Brings peace and calmness just looking at it. Great work!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you have a lovely day.
    Big hug, Dina

    • Wishing you a wonderful Valentines too! Delighted you feel the calm peace which filled the landscape this evening. It was beauty which left me smiling long after the light had gone 🙂

Beautiful. We are enjoying ripe apricots in summer here. They glow just as you describe.
