Love this, Seonaid. Your words fit perfectly. 🙂
Thank you, it was a beautiful scene across the loch…..and I have a thing for mist 🙂
An endlessly fascinating sight of mist .. sky … light spaces . Such a lovely haiku too .
Enjoy your trip to further mountains and lochs Seonaid 🙂
Thanks Poppy, I’m looking forward to the change of scene and pace.
Have you come back to earth after your wonderful adventures?
only just 😉
I love to see it burn away leaving a bright day behind.
It’s very uplifting somehow isn’t it Gilly. It seemed as though the sun wasn’t quite strong enough to burn the mist away on this day…..it simply gathered it upwards into the clouds 🙂
Love the sense of this picture…fabulous capture.
Thanks Donna, I always feel there is something very tender and intimate about mist peeling away….
What a breathtakingly beautiful photo. I love your haiku too.
Suzanne, that’s a glorious comment….I’m delighted you enjoyed the post. The photo was taken on a short trip up North into Perthshire.
I still dreaming of visiting Scotland but for now will visit through your photos and haiku
I like the way you have captured the light in this picture.
Thanks Colline, it was beautiful to watch the mist lift and the light come streaming down through the clouds.
Beautiful gaps, Seonaid 🙂
Love the gaps….where the light gets in!
Your blue is beautiful! x
Thanks Caro, blue, black and white were the main colours I saw on this little trip north. Winter was still holding onto the colour palette, keeping it muted!

You must have used a telephoto lens? maybe at 10 A.M. ?
I find that you may live in a geographical location.. that has been predestine 🙂
Best Regards,
Anthony
No telephoto lens….I don’t own one unfortunately!
But you are spot on with the time….we had a leisurely breakfast and then headed off along the loch side road. This is up in Perthshire, about an hour and a half north of my home 🙂
Such a glorious capture!
It was all quite majestic and on such a grand scale 🙂
Stunning…not only the photo but your words, too!
Glad you liked the haiku Ese 🙂
Gorgeous! I love when the sun winks through the clouds.
It’s wonderful isn’t it? On this day it was more like a cover being lifted away and the light streamed in.
What a great image. I loved your poem, too.
The first of Jan. I moved farther North in New Hampshire and at times I get to see mist and fog play with the hills and mountains. You have captured the sentiment of the nature of the place beautifully.
There is something very magical about mist for me. I also love the way that mountains make me feel small and give me perspective. I’m sure you’re enjoying your new home!
A beautiful picture… I miss mountains.
Thanks Sue…..mountains and mist….so good for the soul 🙂
Oh yes… I have a hankering for proper mountains. Spring pulls bits of me every year… 🙂
I love that impatient tugging feeling….my feet are starting to get itchy as my energy levels rise with the sap 🙂
Yep. But I get to go north in a few days… and there be hills 🙂
Enjoy the hills Sue….I’m heading far north at the end of next week into giant mountains and sea lochs…can’t wait!
Oh, I wish I was going that far north….I haven’t been to Scotland for a long time, and I used to get to go there every week.. I miss it!
Well you will just have to make a plan and head north 🙂
Which part of Scotland did you used come to?
I was licky enough to run up the west coast, through Cumbria to Glasgow, then headed off to Pitlochry and Aberdeen, before dropping down to Edinburgh and down the east coast of England. Every week. I loved that job!
I often detoured… and have explored, albeit briefly, much of the Highlands. I love the place.
Wow Sue, that’s a lot of travelling….what a wonderful sounding job 🙂
It was awesome… 1800 miles from Friday to Sunday every week. I would give my eye teeth for a job like that again!
I love when that happens! 🙂 Good capture, Seonaid!

Me too….and I adore your haiku it’s perfect.
