Her energy has been building, a deep pulse of life and colour, throbbing just below the surface. Contained by the old cracked, black and white skin of winter, she has been growing in hidden waves. Gathering colours and shapes for her dramatic entry, ready to sweep away the quiet stillness of winter in a dramatic burst.
She’s all about attraction and attention, no muted palette here as she displays her shimmering satin frocks for all the world to see. No shrinking violet, she’s confidently mixing opposing colours, delighting in the drama and the clash of surprise. The suffragettes would be delighted as she stakes her claim to life with confidence, in their colours but adding a splash of orange gold for good measure.
Life turns outwards at her insistence, reversing the earths skin. Darkness folds inwards in the wake of her advancing trail, and colour sings out towards the stars and sun. Opposites unite in her glowing aura, and life begets life in unfolding waves. All the winter stores of energy are released in an outburst wild enough to stir the coldest hearts. Can you hear her call, will you release yourself into the openness and abundance of spring?

My envy makes me feel guilt! I’m jealous! Perhaps we should move? Our current landscape looks freighteningly ‘lunar.’ Lambs are due soon and I’m afraid they will be welcomed into this work with little sun, cold temperatures, and very wet ground. Your images served, however, to warm me … even for the briefest of moments. D
Oh the poor lambs, it’s hard on them when winter lingers.
I know last year lots of them were born in the snow here…..this year winter has been short and mild for us, but it’s always an unpredictable surprise. This burst of colour was such a treat and a promise of more to come which is why I wanted to share it 🙂
As for moving I’m certain you would love rearing sheep in Scotland ……

It’s all about the color 🙂 Did you take these this spring?
The colours just grabbed me and pulled me in….I took these last week in Vogrie, a country park just 10 minutes from home. My son and the dogs didn’t spot that I had stopped to take photos and they had walked quite far before turning back to find me lying in grass…knees muddy as usual!
“…an outburst wild enough to stir the coldest hearts” – spring has released her sirens at last. It’s fun to sing along with her; even more so, it is necessary and essential for us to do so. Happy Spring 🙂
