Thanks Rachael….the haiku is based on a fairly obscure Celtic myth.
The magian Math created her from flowers, but then she chose to be with a different man from the one she was created to be with ( he had been cursed by his mother to never have a wife born of a woman!)…. I love that she still had a mind of her own, but Math was cross with her defiance and turned her into an owl as punishment….destined to only see the light of the moon on her face…..hence the tragic end 🙂

Gwynn the dogs were on their leads going through here…..otherwise I think they would have photo-bombed for sure 🙂

Poppy, I loved the light on this cairn….it’s part of an art trail in Attadale Gardens up in Wester Ross…when I looked at the photo it looked like a stone owl perched on the boulder, and this got me thinking about Blodwed the Celtic maiden created from flowers by the magician Math….perfect sense in my head 🙂

It’s part of an art installation in Attadale Gardens on the banks of Loch Carron. There’s a whole trail of cairns built in little clearings among the Scots pines…..this one just looked like an owl to me 🙂
