About greenmackenzie

Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a collection of dogs, hens and a cat. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 20 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

Lovely wickedness of yours…I had never thought of this before – it’s so perfect! And – we’ve got tickets now for the Tattoo on the Saturday in August. Hopefully the Sunday will be ours?!

    • Wonderful….which date and I’ll book it for a dog walk and some yummy food ๐Ÿ™‚

Tattoo Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 free! The tattoo late in the evening (10pm?), so Saturday is a possibility if it would suit you better. Would be lovely – but don’t take too much trouble now…meeting you all is the best!

I’m laughing!! I SOOOOO can relate to the menopausal glow! As always this is a fabulous post and gorgeous picture. I would love your email address so I can forward some pictures and a couple of blogs of this area. You would see the similarities of where we live.

  6. “yearly menopausal flush” – that sounds a bit scary to those of us who hope they are a symptom of the past. But I am sure the tree doesn’t mind ๐Ÿ™‚

    LOL!
Your witty words were the first thing I opened this morning.
Perfect way to start the day…with a smile on my face and a hot cup of tea in my hand!

That is very clever. I will look at all those beautiful leaves, of a certain age and colour, and smile a secret smile…

Yearly menopausal flush ๐Ÿ˜€ Beautiful flush! ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. I have yet to go through menopause so I can’t speak on that (got 7 more years hopefully), but I can say this photo is really beautiful. I love the colors of fall.

    • Oh me too…..don’t know how long to go, but I loved the idea of the year, and perhaps the trees as ageing ladies, winter will surely be crone hood and post menopausal!!…..but hey every Spring they are reborn into youthful beauty ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Don’t ever, ever, tell Joanna I said this … but she’ll appreciate the metaphor! I’m envious that you still have leaves clinging to the trees! Although we’re experiencing something of a thaw here … 11F (-12C) last week and nearly 70F (21C) here today! I don’t like the fluctuations .. at this point I wish it would get cold and stay cold for a bit. D

    • The photos is actually a few weeks old David…..we are down to the last few yellow leaves clinging bravely on…..next big breeze and it will all be over for another year. Back to bare branches!
Can’t believe that dramatic temp fluctuation….that would be very disorientating!

      • I can see, out of my peripheral vision, the little red warning lights blinking on our weather radio. The alert is for a ‘Winter Storm Warning,’ from 3AM this morning until sometime tomorrow afternoon. We are hosting Thanksgiving here at the farm and have several folks driving from long distance. I hope they arrive safely. I’m already missing summer … something powerful! D
