Summer Trolls

Summer is here, and the stone trolls are peeping out from beneath her green and floral skirts. Lured out into the warmth and light they share a tale or two of the deep dark earth. Can you see them, blinking and smiling in the sun?

Taken beside a healing well on the Isle of Skye this May…..

About greenmackenzie

Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a couple of dogs. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 12 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

How wonderful that you can see the trolls – I can see them too! Thank you for looking at my beautiful fairy,

  3. I think they look pretty grumpy – perhaps that’s because their eyes are still adjusting to the sharp sun? I repeat what everyone has said already: it’s so good to see you back again. Me too, I have missed your beautiful and inspiring posts! (And should the trolls start bothering you, try wearing amber, it was believed to keep trolls away!)

    • Wonderful advice…and I do indeed often wear Amber…perhaps that’s why I’ve always returned intact, so far! To e they are smiling, but yes through eyes squinting at the sudden bright light of summer 🙂

    • Aren’t stone trolls cute….we were just driving away from the sacred well and the beautiful shoreline, which I had spent quite sometime photographing, while my ever so patient husband played with the dogs…..keeping them in and out of scene as required…..so when I saw these guys from the car I just had to get him to stop and wait a little longer. He is really very patient 🙂
