About greenmackenzie
Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a collection of dogs, hens and a cat. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 20 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

We travelled North, up through the mountains which make up the rugged heart of Highland Scotland. The further we travelled the smaller we felt, until we were tiny specks of life in the midst of stone hills. Winter was still … Continue reading →

I had spent weeks trying to get a beautiful shot of bluebells in sunshine, then we left Edinburgh and headed up North for a 10 day break. Look what we found in the field the hour after we arrived. A … Continue reading →

If you follow the curves of the River Esk a few miles upstream from my home, you’ll find these water carved rocks. Huge blocks of iron rich stone, thoughtfully cut by the passage of water and time. The easiest softest … Continue reading →

Today’s collection of Edinburgh photos are from around Paisley Close, on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, or High Street. Despite the fact that this area had some of Scotland’s worse slums back in the 19th century, nowadays it’s all very pretty and … Continue reading →
